Buy a Brick to Build our Boathouse
Our campaign to raise funds to develop our boathouse footprint is open!
To adequately accommodate our growing team and provide flexible and improved storage for our future rescue boat, we must develop our boathouse footprint. Since PLIRB started in 1970, there have been various progressive adaptations that have facilitated our growth and ability to adapt to the challenges we face.
This development will include the extension of our garage to be inline with the main boathouse. This will provide improved and essential space for our future rescue boat.
The proposed development is a significant cost, so we are appealing to everyone who supports us to donate a sum of their choice in exchange for a commemorative ‘brick’ which will be displayed inside our new boathouse.
The completion target is spring 2026, with the construction work being carried out during the off-season months.
The next steps..

- Finalise the detailed plans for the boathouse to ensure it is fit for purpose for the foreseeable future.
- Enter the Request for Proposal stage to invite local building/construction businesses to submit a tender for the project.
- Continue to promote our fundraising activities.

We have launched a new appeal to allow anyone to purchase a display ‘brick’ inside the new boathouse. You can choose the amount you wish to donate and leave a small message.
